Film and TV Production with David Kerr (1986)

David Kerr (1986) spoke about his work in film and TV production and the career path he has followed. 

David has vast experience in both film and TV, working with some of Britain’s top talent including Steve Coogan, Olivia Colman, Matt Lucas and Gemma Arterton. As lead director of student house-share comedy Fresh Meat (C4/Hulu), David gave Jack Whitehall his first acting job. The show won 6 awards, including the RTS Award for Best Comedy. David also won the Best Comedy BAFTA for sketch show for That Mitchell and Webb Look (BBC).

His first film, Johnny English Strikes Again, was released in October 2018 and became the year’s highest-grossing English language comedy at the international box office.

After growing up in Belfast, David started acting and directing plays at Cambridge University, where he graduated with a first class degree in Classics. He's still waiting for the call to direct a remake of 300 in Ancient Greek.
