50th Anniversary of Co-Education

While the Review usually reflects on the previous academic year, by the time this edition reaches its readers the College will have embarked on a significant anniversary: 50 years of co-education at Clare.

Throughout the 2022-23 academic year, there will be a series of special events, lectures and written reflections to mark this milestone. We thank everyone who has already contributed to this year’s programme of events, and hope that many more of you will be able to join us for those that lie ahead.

We would also like to take this opportunity to ask you to share your stories from Clare – both those before and after women were admitted to the College in 1972 – so we can continue to build an oral history archive that reflects one of the most momentous changes in Clare’s 700-year history.

We hope you will join us in celebrating the achievements of our alumnae this year (in person or online). A full report on the anniversary events will be included in next year’s Review.
