A Mindfulness Taster
with Dr Rachael Harris (Clare Fellow)

Mindfulness is an approach to looking after the mind as an organism, in a similar way to how we look after the body. It originated in Buddhism and has been developed over the last 30 years by psychologists as a way to build resilience and improve mental health. This will be an interactive experiential workshop to introduce some basic ideas and short meditation practices.

Rachael Harris is Senior Language Teaching Officer in Arabic in the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and has been a Tutor at Clare since 1998. She is also the Buddhist Chaplain to the University and has been a meditation teacher for over 30 years with the Samatha Trust, a Buddhist tradition based in the UK.
